Chapter 1 The Brutal Wanted Criminal
Beiling Police Station, Nanli District, Chuncheng City, Xianshan Province, China.
"No!"
A shrill cry cut through the night like a sharp knife.
Liang Yu woke up from his deep sleep, he was covered in cold sweat and gasping for breath!
The police officer who answered the call looked confused and a little surprised. "You scared me, kid! Did you have a nightmare?"
Liang Yu's face was as pale as paper. He turned a blind eye to everything around him, and his confused eyes wandered around the familiar office.
I was filled with doubts: Was I dreaming? But the reality was so strong!
My thoughts can't help but drift back to the scene just now:
In the office hall, police officers from various groups were exhausted and busy like ants on a hot pan.
In the corner, a silent young man sat there, wearing the trainee police officer's iconic double-crutch badge on his shoulder strap.
This person is Liang Yu, a recent graduate of the computer science major from Spring City University.
This year, I passed the provincial examination and successfully got a job as a communications equipment maintenance worker at Beiling Police Station.
He has a thin and tall figure, a handsome face with clear lines, a high nose bridge, a pair of bright eyes hidden under his single eyelids, and a short crew cut that makes him look youthful and childish.
Today is his first day on the job, which coincides with the joint operation in Nanli District.
The station was short of staff, and Liang Yu, a clerk, was drafted into the army to work the night shift.
Unexpected incidents followed one after another, including a group fight at Zui Renjian Bar, a woman in Building 18 of Jiuzhou Wanjing Community attempting suicide, and a 9-year-old boy in Nanhai Kangcheng Community going missing after school.
The Nanli District seems to be in turmoil tonight, and police forces are out in full force.
I don't know if it was out of concern or fear of causing trouble, but even though there were too many cases to handle, no one took him with them.
Soon, the newcomer Liang Yu and the police dispatcher were the only ones left in the empty office.
Suddenly, the voice of a middle-aged man broke the silence: "Wow, where have all the people gone?"
Liang Yu looked up and saw a man who was about fifty years old. He had a round face with a friendly smile and his short white hair revealed the traces of time.
He was not tall, and had a slightly protruding beer belly, making him look a little fat. This person was Deputy Director Liu Qinghai.
"Hello, Chief Liu! Everyone has gone out on patrol." Liang Yu stood up and responded a little shyly.
"Oh, you are the new Xiao Liang."
Director Liu is a kind person with no airs. He is personally leading the team on duty tonight.
At this time, the police officer came quickly and reported urgently:
"Officer Liu, we have received a report from the public that some people are gathering to gamble in Xingfu Community, which is seriously disturbing the residents. Officer Gao is currently leading a team to participate in a joint operation. Other teams are also handling cases, so he cannot be free to go there for the time being."
"Since everyone is busy, I'll go over there." Director Liu responded.
"But you can't go out on a patrol alone!" the police officer reminded with concern.
Liang Yu, who was standing by, mustered up his courage and volunteered, "Captain Liu, I'll go with you."
"Okay, gambling disturbs the public, so it shouldn't be too dangerous. Just follow me." Director Liu readily agreed.
The Xingfu community was built a long time ago and has no elevator, only old-fashioned stairs.
When the two arrived at the door of Room 6, Unit 1, Building 101, the sound of mahjong tiles colliding and noisy voices coming from inside the house could be clearly heard.
Director Liu turned around with an encouraging smile on his face:
"Turn on the body camera and follow me. Don't be afraid."
He patted Liang Yu's shoulder gently to comfort him.
"Hmm!" The young police officer pursed his dry lips.
Gripping the baton tightly in his hand, he prepared for the first actual combat in his career.
Coincidentally.
The door was suddenly pushed open from the inside as if premeditated, and a burly man walked out of the room.
The figures of the three people intertwined at the door, and they all stood there in silence for a moment.
Liu Qinghai took a closer look and his heart instantly tensed up like a string!
This person turned out to be Wang Wanping!
The wanted criminal who has been on the run for many years in the April 4 murder case that has not been solved!
In a flash, the burly man suddenly jumped up.
He suddenly pushed away Director Liu who was blocking his way and ran out of the building like a wild animal out of a cage. "He's a wanted criminal, chase him!"
Director Liu reacted quickly, shouted loudly, and chased after him.
Liang Yu, the new employee, was still confused, but his body followed closely without hesitation.
Although Xingfu Community is not large, its old lighting facilities provide Wang Wanping with excellent conditions for escape.
Under the cover of darkness, he cunningly crossed the neighborhood and entered the alley next to it.
Director Liu and Liang Yu held flashlights and chased after them in the darkness.
However, at a fork in the road, Wang Wanping disappeared again.
Director Liu made a prompt decision and ordered: "You chase the right side, and I'll chase the left side!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he plunged into the alley on the left and disappeared into the darkness.
Liang Yu's heart almost jumped out of his chest at this moment, not because of tiredness, but because of fear.
He was not a graduate of a police academy and it was his first day at work, so he had never experienced such a scene!
It was pitch black when he saw it. Liang Yu raised the flashlight, gave himself courage, and ran to the alley on the right with gritted teeth.
However, after running less than 50 meters, there was a dead end ahead.
Before I could even stop, I heard a shout from Liu's side!
The insidious Wang Wanping lurked in the darkness and suddenly pulled out a sharp blade with a cold glow, attacking the defenseless Liu Qinghai. The two immediately engaged in a fierce fight.
"Xiao Liang!"
The shouts echoed in the silent night. Liang Yu was shocked and immediately turned around and ran back.
On the other side, Wang Wanping, who was trapped but still fighting, stabbed several times in a row.
Puff puff.
Director Liu suffered a heavy blow to the abdomen and blood foamed from his mouth, but he still used all his strength to hold on to the other person tightly.
Wang Wanping's face was ferocious. He knew that if he was captured, he would be doomed and could only fight to the death.
Blood splattered everywhere, and the sharp knife was like the scythe of the god of death, constantly waving in Wang Wanping's hand, and every knife seemed to reap lives.
"Liu Suo!"
Liang Yu finally arrived, but it was too late!
In the light of the flashlight, he saw Liu Qinghai collapsed to the ground, blood spurting out of his abdomen, and white intestines spilling all over the floor!
And the murderer Wang Wanping was staring at him viciously!
Liang Yu's whole body was shaking as if it was hit by an electric current.
His eyes were wide open, filled with endless panic and astonishment. At this moment, his brain seemed to be emptied in an instant, leaving only a suffocating blank.
"Damn, I was shocked. It turns out she's a virgin."
Wang Wanping was so crazy with killing that he was determined to kill him once and for all. He walked towards Liang Yu, ready to send him to the gates of hell as well.
At the critical moment, Director Liu, who fell to the ground, grabbed Wang Wanping's right foot tightly.
He tried his best to scream, "Run!"
In a rage, Wang Wanping waved the knife wildly.
He stabbed Chief Liu again and again until the sharp knife was stuck in the opponent's ribs.
He pulled hard, even twisting the blade several times before he could pull it out.
Liu Qinghai seemed to be able to hear the sound of his bones breaking.
A large cloud of blood mist spurted out of his mouth, and he finally died heroically in regret and self-blame.
Witnessing Director Liu's heroic death, Liang Yu's eyes widened in grief and anger.
He forgot his fear, but also lost his mind. He rushed towards Wang Wanping regardless of his own safety, vowing to avenge Director Liu!
"I'm gonna fight you!"
puff!
I suddenly felt a chill in my chest!
Pfft!
Then the neck felt cold again, followed by an intense burning sensation!
In front of the vicious murderer, Liang Yu was too naive.
Gradually, he lost consciousness and his pupils dilated.
"No!"
Is it the final unwillingness or the beginning of rebirth?
