Chapter 17 It’s Snowing
As time entered December, the capital city welcomed its first snow.
For Liu Zhou, who grew up in Guangzhou where it never snows, snow was his childhood dream.
Even though he is grown up now, he still finds snow strange.
Because he had a class at Beijing Film Academy the next day, Liu Zhou got up early despite the cold.
After washing up and going outside, I saw that the campus of the Chinese Academy of Drama was indeed covered in snow.
Liu Zhou was admiring the campus after the snow while pushing his bicycle towards the school gate.
Liu Zhou was too lazy to go to the cafeteria for breakfast, so he ate outside the school.
There are plenty of breakfasts for sale outside the school gate, and there are many small businesses around the alleys. These breakfast shops not only supply to students of the Central Academy of Drama, their target customers also include nearby residents.
After leaving the school gate, the cold wind blew over my head from time to time, blowing up a flake of snow. The snow-covered Dongmianhua Hutong concealed a lot of the modern atmosphere, and everything was so quiet and peaceful.
The snow on the road had not been cleared yet, and it made a rustling sound when stepped on. It had become dirty because of being stepped on so many times, which did not meet the southerners' expectations of snow at all.
Liu Zhou went to a breakfast shop he often went to and ordered four meat buns and a bowl of soy milk.
The freshly-baked buns exude an enticing aroma, are genuine and generous in portion, and taking a bite is simply an ultimate enjoyment.
Soy milk is the traditional soy milk, not the Beijing specialty soy juice. Liu Zhou would not even want to drink that stuff, even the smell of it would make him want to vomit.
After drinking the last sip of soy milk, Liu Zhou felt much warmer and couldn't help burping. After paying, he rode his bike towards Beijing Film Academy.
When I arrived at the Beijing Film Academy classroom, I finally felt much more comfortable because of the heating.
The weather is not so cold in Guangzhou, and Liu Zhou is still adapting to the winter in the capital.
Later, when certain audio platforms were available, Liu Zhou saw a video saying that people in the south are actually more cold-resistant than people in the north. He didn't know whether it was true or not.
Anyway, Liu Zhou felt that he could not withstand the cold as well as Liu Ye.
Liu Zhou arrived at the classroom just in time, and the bell rang within a few minutes.
Just as Liu Zhou was listening to the class attentively, a figure sneaked in from the back door. Seeing a seat next to a boy in the back row, he immediately sat down.
At first, Liu Zhou was not from this school, so he unconsciously sat in the last row when he came here to attend classes. Later, he became familiar with the teachers and classmates and got used to sitting in the back.
What’s a bit funny is that the students in the class still don’t know that he is from the Central Academy of Drama. They always thought that Liu Zhou was from the Department of Literature of Beijing Film Academy.
Only a few teachers knew that I was from the neighboring school. That was because I asked them a lot of questions, and after talking for a long time, the teachers discovered that something was wrong, and I took the initiative to admit it.
The teachers were also quite tolerant and did not treat me differently because I was from the Central Academy of Drama. On the contrary, they gave me more encouragement in my goal of becoming a director.
Liu Zhou was the one sitting in the last row at this time. He was not too surprised that there was an extra person next to him, because late classmates often sneaked in through the back door before and sometimes sat next to him.
But the person today was a little different. Liu Zhou discovered that it was a woman, and a pretty one at that.
There are still very few female students in the directing department, and there is not even one in this class.
When she took off her hat and revealed her little face which was red from the cold, Liu Zhou recognized her immediately. Isn't this the beautiful Chang'e Yan Danchen?
I don’t know why she appeared in this classroom today. Liu Zhou had never seen her before.
Yan Danchen, who had tidied her clothes, noticed the boy next to her was staring at her and couldn't help but glare back at him.
If we weren't in class right now, I would have to teach this lecherous guy a lesson!
Seeing her fierce look, Liu Zhou couldn't help but smile, then he ignored her and continued to listen to the class.
Seeing Liu Zhou laughing, Yan Danchen next to him became even angrier.
"What are you laughing at? Is there anything funny?"
Liu Zhou noticed that she was talking to him and replied:
"Nothing to smile about."
"I saw you were grinning just now. You must have some bad thoughts in your mind."
Liu Zhou knew that she had misunderstood him, but he did not explain anything.
"I smiled because the teacher's lecture was wonderful. Although you are very beautiful, don't be too narcissistic. Not everyone has feelings for you."
"It better be this way."
Liu Zhou ignored her and continued to listen to the class seriously. Yan Danchen, who was standing next to him, was confused because it was her first time attending class here. She felt like she was listening to a foreign language.
He forced himself to listen carefully, but he really couldn't understand. Yan Danchen couldn't concentrate for more than a few minutes and became bored.
At this moment, she couldn't help but look at the boy next to her.
He is not very handsome, but not bad either. His face looks strong and he is dressed neatly. His temperament seems to be better than the handsome guys Chen Kun and Huang Xiaoming in the class.
The notebook is full of notes. This boy must be a good student who studies hard.
It seems that I misunderstood him just now. Such a person should not be the kind of person with bad intentions and dirty thoughts.
Looking at the boy next to him who was taking notes seriously, Yan Danchen's eyes suddenly lit up.
"Hey!"
"What's your name?"
"Can you reply?"
Seeing that Liu Zhou still had no reaction, Yan Danchen's tone softened.
"I was wrong just now. I shouldn't have misunderstood you."
"Can you please stop being so arrogant and at least give me a response?"
"What?" Liu Zhou stopped remaining silent when he saw that the other party admitted his mistake.
Seeing Liu Zhou finally speak, Yan Danchen said happily:
"I thought you were just ignoring me. What's your name? My name is Yan Danchen, and I'm from the 96 undergraduate class of acting."
"My name is Liu Zhou, and I'm from the Department of Literature."
"I didn't expect that someone from the literature department like you would come to attend the directing department's class."
"You from the acting department also come to attend the directing department's class, don't you?"
"You think I want to come? The acting department also has a basic directing course, so I have to come."
"Then why haven't I seen you or any students from the acting department before?"
"The school has opened this course specifically for students in the acting department. We used to take the course in our own classrooms."
"Then what are you doing here?"
Hearing this question, Yan Danchen felt a little embarrassed and said:
"I didn't understand the lesson before, so I came here to take a class. Now the exam is coming up, so I came here to review the content."
Liu Zhou smiled dumbly and said:
"I think you didn't listen carefully before, so you came here to make up for it because you were afraid you wouldn't pass the exam."
"Okay, I admit that the facts are as you said."
"Then why aren't you listening carefully?"
"I find that I still don't understand." Yan Danchen said with a bitter face.
"So that's it, what happens next?"
"And can you lend me your notebook? I see you take very detailed notes."
After saying this, Yan Danchen looked at Liu Zhou expectantly.
Liu Zhou drank the water slowly, then said without even looking at her:
"cannot!"
"Yan Danchen:
