Chapter 20 20. The fifth level of talisman
Xu Qing didn't leave many things in the Taoist Temple.
Or rather, there is none.
So he didn't have to pack up and moved directly into the yard allocated to him by the temple.
The yard is quite large, with white walls and black tiles, a small half-open window, and several lush green bamboos under the eaves. The environment looks quite elegant and quiet.
There are four rooms in total, a master bedroom, a study, a quiet room, and a toilet. Meals can be eaten in the dining hall, so it is obviously suitable for one person to live in.
The bed sheets, quilts and other daily necessities in the master bedroom have already been prepared by the temple, so you can move in directly with your luggage.
After Xu Qing had sorted out everything, he immediately went to visit his master.
As soon as he entered his master's house, he heard a voice, but the voice came from the roof.
"Are you Qingxu's new disciple?"
Xu Qing looked up——
It is a cat with an orange body and a chubby face. It is basking in the sun on the roof and its body looks round and fat.
Lying down is like spreading out an omelet.
"I was asking you, didn't you hear me?"
Xu Qing quickly stood up solemnly and bowed: "Greetings, Senior. It's me."
A cat demon that has refined its horizontal bone, can speak human language, and appears in its own master's yard, it must not be simple no matter how you think about it.
So Xu Qing simply treated it as an elder and expert in the temple.
"That's quite polite, not bad, not bad." The orange cat yawned, "Qingxu is in there, go find him."
"Yes."
Xu Qing knocked on the door and pushed it open after hearing "come in" from inside.
Taoist Qingxu was standing by the window with his hands behind his back, his pupils soaked in sunlight, and he looked deeply at the rolling sea of clouds in the distance.
A censer of incense was burning on the table next to it, with smoke rising into the air.
Xu Qing looked at Taoist Qingxu's profile.
I can feel that my master has an indescribable aura. It is clearly there when I look at him, but when I feel carefully, it seems not there.
Just as if.
He completely blended into this environment, becoming a familiar and indispensable presence in the room.
"Disciple, is the master handsome?"
As soon as Taoist Qingxu opened his mouth, he destroyed the quiet and natural atmosphere.
Xu Qing's forehead was covered with a few black lines. He suppressed the twitching corners of his mouth, bowed and said:
"Disciple pays homage to master."
Taoist Qingxu turned around and coughed dryly:
"This is not a formal occasion. We are just a private group of master and disciple. There is no need to be so polite."
Done.
Taoist Qingxu asked Xu Qing to sit down.
"Before I can teach you how to practice, I need to give you a Taoist name first."
Xu Qing quickly stood up and bowed.
"No need to get up, just sit down."
"You are my disciple, so you should be called Jing. Hmm..." Taoist Qingxu pondered for a moment, "How about you just be called Jingdu."
"You have great talent, and your cultivation speed should be very fast in the future. I hope you won't pursue speed too much. Sometimes you should stop to rest and reflect."
“Put your mind and body in order, so that you can start again.”
"You have to remember that the purpose of cultivation is to live a better life, not just for realm and power."
"Of course, you and I both understand that only by having a higher realm and power can we dominate our own lives, but don't forget the scenery along the way."
Xu Qing deeply agreed with Taoist Qingxu's teachings.
He never thought that embarking on the path of spiritual practice meant he had to cut off all emotions and desires, stay away from worldly affairs, and not be affected by the mundane world.
If I become like that, can I still be considered a human being?
So Taoist Qingxu's words hit the nail on the head.
"I think this Taoist name is very good."
"Okay." Taoist Qingxu nodded with great satisfaction: "Also, let me tell you about the situation of my lineage."
"Above you, there is a senior brother and a senior sister."
"But they are not in the temple now. They have gone down the mountain to travel around, helping the poor and the needy, and slaying demons and monsters."
Xu Qing thought about it for a moment.
Being able to go down the mountain and travel around means that the senior brothers and sisters have already been ordained, and their realm is at least above Qi Refining.
"Okay, let's get to the point." Taoist Qingxu adjusted his expression slightly, "Jingdu, do you know what life is?"
"Disciple knows." Xu Qing said immediately, "Nature is the spirit of the human body. Life is the primordial Yang energy of the human body." "Life cannot exist without nature, and nature cannot exist without life. The two are the inside and outside of each other, corresponding to the body and spirit."
After more than three months in meditation, Xu Qing spent a lot of time every day studying Taoist scriptures. He was no longer the ignorant person who knew nothing about spiritual practice.
"That's not wrong."
Taoist Qingxu nodded in affirmation:
"Nature and destiny are the basis for the survival of all living beings in the world, and they are also the cornerstones for those of us who practice Taoism to achieve the Great Dao."
"Practice and cultivate, what you cultivate is these two words 'life'."
"You have already obtained the skills that are suitable for you from the Dharma Pavilion in advance. In addition, the first volume of the Tai Shang Huang Ting Dao Jing, which is the foundation of our sect, was also bestowed upon you during the ordination ceremony."
"The Great Yellow Court Dao Sutra is very important. You need to recite it carefully every day. It will be very helpful for your cultivation of life and soul."
"Taishang Huangting Daojing", this sutra summarizes the myriad methods of Yuanfu Guan, and taking it as the foundation, one can go straight to the supreme realm of immortals and gods.
Unfortunately, ever since the ancient emperor created the connection between heaven and earth, the original trinity of heaven, earth and man has gradually separated and are no longer connected to each other.
Although there are still rumors of "ascension" in the world, over the past tens of thousands of years, no practitioner has truly been able to ascend to become an immortal.
Nowadays, the rumors about gods and immortals in the secular world are actually the deeds of those with great supernatural powers.
The real immortals and gods are nowhere to be found, and even in the world of cultivation they are an unattainable fantasy.
But Xu Qing hadn't thought of going that far.
It is enough to know that the skills of one's own sect can be cultivated all the way to the Mahayana realm of Taoism.
"Practice your skills first and let me see how far you have progressed."
"Yes, master."
There was a stone couch for meditation in Taoist Qingxu's room. Xu Qing sat cross-legged on it, holding the Yuan and Oneness, and practicing the "Imperial Command to the Six Dings and Six Jias"
The moment when Xu Qing's skills were put into practice.
Suddenly, rune light flashed in Taoist Qingxu's eyes, and his gaze seemed to penetrate Xu Qing's body and see the scene of the twelve gods inside sitting in charge of the body and soul.
"This is.?"
Taoist Qingxu's eyes flickered slightly: "Great supernatural power? The Six Dings and Six Jias showing their true spirits?"
At some point, the plump orange cat appeared on the table next to him:
"Old Qingxu, could it be that your disciple is the reincarnation of some immortal?"
“It shouldn’t be.” Taoist Qingxu’s eyes sparkled, and after a moment of silence he said, “In ancient times, the emperor of mankind severed the connection between heaven and earth, and cut off the communication between the three realms. Since then, the immortals and gods have disappeared.”
"Later, some great changes may have occurred in heaven and on earth, resulting in the inability of even the various Taoist sects to communicate with the upper world."
"At this point in time, mortals cannot reach the heavens, and it is extremely difficult for immortals to descend to the mortal world."
"That's right." The orange cat swung its tail, "But even if he's not the reincarnation of an immortal, he's born to be an immortal. You've found a treasure this time."
Taoist Qingxu laughed and said, "That old fellow Xuanji accepted a disciple with extremely great talent, and he shows off in front of me every day. Now it's my turn."
The orange cat looked at Taoist Qingxu unhappily: "So this is why you suddenly wanted to accept a disciple?"
"A little bit, but it's mainly because this disciple has such good aptitude."
Xu Qing did not swallow the blood-nourishing pill during his practice this time. The essence of water and grain produced by digesting food was not enough to sustain him for too long.
About a cup of tea later, Xu Qing opened his eyes.
"That's right." Qingxu Daodao nodded slightly: "Your practice has entered a good state, and there is nothing to correct at the moment."
"The only thing that limits your cultivation speed now is the amount of resources you have."
After saying that, Taoist Qingxu took out a few things from his sleeve, including four talismans and a small bottle.
"This bottle contains nine blood-nourishing pills. Together with the three blood-nourishing pills provided to true disciples every month by the temple, it should be enough for your cultivation in the next one or two months."
"Among these four talismans, one is the Pot Heaven Talisman, which contains a small space. You can use your energy to stimulate it and take in things.
One is a talisman for breaking the earth and summoning thunder. The sky is yang and the earth is yin. Breaking the earth means breaking the yin. Once the yang breaks through the yin, it will burst out and become thunder. This talisman is extremely powerful. If you encounter a strong enemy in the future, you can use it to fight the enemy.
One is the Taishan Suppressing Talisman, which can borrow a bit of Taishan's charm and suppress an area when used. It is used to save your life and escape;
One is the Thousand Mile Sound Transmission Talisman, this talisman is for you to contact your master at a critical moment."
Xu Qing took the thing respectfully.
Although he has not yet officially started making talismans, he also knows that
The talismans of Yuanfu Temple are divided into five levels: gold, silver, purple, blue and yellow, corresponding to the five levels of ordination. Each level is divided into three grades: upper, middle and lower.
The three talismans that Taoist Qingxu handed him were all top-grade purple talismans.
The value of each one is unimaginable. If placed in some small households, it would be enough to become a sect's treasure.
This is the importance of having a good master.
At the end, Taoist Qingxu advised:
"As the saying goes, a master can lead you to the door, but practicing depends on yourself. You have to walk the path yourself. Remember to practice diligently in the future."
"If you have any questions, you can come and ask me directly. If I'm not here, you can ask other elders in the temple for advice."
"In addition, there is also Lord Jinhu." Taoist Qingxu turned his gaze to the orange cat on the table, "Although it is a demon, it also practices the skills of my Yuanfu Temple."
"Disciple understands." Xu Qing said respectfully.
