Chapter 3 I changed my mind
Xie Zhang's eyes widened. "No way, boss, you don't want me to walk back! I can't take a taxi. I have mysophobia! I..."
Before he could finish his words, the Maybach had disappeared in the thin rain and mist.
Xie Zhang stood there, racking his brains to figure out what kind of temper this ancestor had with him when he just returned to China.
Bian Yue went to the Mazu Temple to burn incense and kneel down to worship, but after worshipping for a long time she still had no idea what she could pray for, so she simply took a long walk alone on the beach, and only went home when it got dark.
Hong Kong Island is mountainous, and the Li family's old house is built on a mountain in the Central and Western District. Every inch of land is valuable, and it overlooks the continuous coastline and bright lights of Hong Kong Island.
When Bian Yue got home, it was already completely dark.
Li Siheng was standing in front of the French window with his back to her.
He was wearing a simple white shirt tonight, exactly the same as when Bian Yue met him at the age of 16.
But now, he is more mature and serious than when he was young, his sleeves are fixed with cuffs, and the watch on his wrist shines coldly. The light casts a layer of warm light on him, a very light color.
If others meet him for the first time, they will think that Li Siheng is a gentle gentleman. Only Bian Yue can see the cold and rational nature beneath his gentle appearance from the details.
Bian Yue's eyes felt inexplicably sore, and she sat down on the sofa beside her.
Li Siheng still had his back to Bian Yue. He spoke, his gentle voice unable to conceal the coldness, "Did you go to see Shi Anan?"
"Yes, this is the first time she has made a fuss in front of me. What? Do you love her very much? That's why you made her so bold?" Bian Yue smiled coldly. Seeing that Li Siheng didn't say anything, she looked at his back.
"Li Siheng, I'm kindly reminding you that I went to meet her to give you face. The Li family can't afford to lose this person, and I don't want to see your gossip on the headlines of Hong Kong City!"
Li Siheng was not angry, his voice was calm and gentle, "Shi Anan is the spokesperson for Fengcheng Group's new jewelry line. During the period when the jewelry is on sale, I don't want you to have any conflicts with her."
Bian Yue raised her eyebrows, her eyes tinged with sarcasm, "When did you, Li Siheng, care about the profits of a few quarters of high-end jewelry? If you really want to save this money, I will give it to you, as long as you call Shi Anan over and let me scold her to vent my anger!"
"Enough!" Li Siheng seemed to have reached his limit. He interrupted coldly and turned around.
He looked at Bian Yue, and under the dim light, he spoke again, with a gentleness that seemed like a slow slicing, but even more cold and powerful: "I never thought that Shi An'an would come to you. She is ignorant. I apologize to you on her behalf."
Bian Yue laughed in anger: "You apologized for her? You want to play the role of a pair of star-crossed lovers, and I am the one who broke up the couple?"
The response was dead silence.
As Bian Yue laughed, tears fell.
"When did it start?" She wiped away the tears on her face with shaking hands, her eyes completely red, and asked softly, "Li Siheng, when did you stop loving me?"
"Is there any point in pursuing this now?" Li Siheng lowered his eyes and was silent for a moment. He whispered, "Yes, I have changed my mind. Bian Yue, so I hope that our engagement can end here."
He finally said this.
Bian Yue thought that her face must look ugly, just like a corpse that had been soaked in the high seas for many days and no one claimed it.
They were clearly so familiar, but when Bian Yue looked at him, she felt that his face began to become unreal and abstract.
"You want to break up your engagement with me? Okay! I can!" Bian Yue pulled the corner of her lips and said in a trembling voice: "But I want to get the inheritance that belongs to me!"
Bian Yue was a minor when she was adopted, and the Bian family's inheritance was placed in a Swiss bank account jointly signed by the Li family and Bian Yue for long-term financial management. The annual interest alone was an astronomical figure.
Bian Yue and Li Siheng were engaged in the past, so the money could be put anywhere.
But now, the engagement is going to be over.
"Li Siheng, I'm 22 years old, not 3. Don't even think about touching the Bian family's money!" Li Siheng looked at Bian Yue calmly, as if he was tolerating an ignorant child.
He said, "You also know that without your signature, no one in the Li family has the authority to use the money, so don't worry, no one will touch your money."
The way he explained things slowly was more convincing than the most experienced teacher. Bian Yue really wanted to find a vacancy for him in junior high school so that he could teach students.
Li Siheng seemed to be blind to her anger and continued, "I will have a fake marriage with you, and when I get your money, we will announce our divorce."
Bian Yue slapped the armrest of the sofa hard, making a noise.
"I am the eldest daughter of the Bian family. The wealthy young men who are chasing after me line up from Tuen Mun to Victoria Harbour. Many of them are willing to go through fire and water for me. No one will be left without you!"
Bian Yue's eyes were red as hell, but she was firm enough to speak word by word: "Li Siheng, what qualifications do you have for me to have a fake marriage with you!"
"Bian Yue," he called her name and said rationally, "I regard you as the most important person. No matter what, I don't want you to hate me."
Having said this, Bian Yue was filled with disappointment. She stood up resolutely and walked quickly upstairs.
In less than a quarter of an hour, she came down pulling a large suitcase.
Li Siheng still sat there motionless, lowering his eyes to look at the suitcase at her feet, and said kindly: "It looks heavy, I'll ask someone to help you carry it."
There is no way to keep him. I am afraid he has been waiting for a long time, and he wishes to God every day that he can get out so that his other beautiful women can move to a new place.
"Thank you, Mr. Li, no need!"
Bian Yue's lips turned pale, and she clenched the trunk handle tightly. "Don't worry, as long as I get my inheritance back, I will announce the dissolution of our engagement, and we will part ways amicably!"
Li Siheng nodded, and said softly, "Then I won't see you off."
Sure enough.
Bian Yue's heart was burned to ashes. She sneered, and the bitterness in her eyes surged again, but she straightened her back and strode out.
She didn't notice Li Siheng was looking at her.
Wind blew in through the wide-open door, bringing with it the coolness of the night and ruffling Bian Yue's hair.
She was determined and not embarrassed, but rather seemed heroic.
Li Siheng's eyes were focused until Bian Yue walked away. Then he withdrew his gaze and told the butler beside him to close the door in a calm voice.
The housekeeper was still looking outside, and when he looked up he saw the heavy rain.
"Master." The housekeeper couldn't bear it and said hesitantly, "It's raining so hard, the young lady will get sick if she gets wet."
There were slight wrinkles between Li Siheng's eyebrows. He lowered his eyes as if in deep thought. His posture was not disturbed. His brows were relaxed. He said softly, "She will not let herself be wronged. If she is really wronged, she will come back by herself."
The housekeeper listened and felt that it was too cold and indifferent.
But Li Siheng did understand Bian Yue. Bian Yue was not the kind of person who would let herself be wronged.
Miss Wen Jiao drove her sports car and took Bian Yue for a ride in the rain. "You are crazy! You are carrying luggage alone on a rainy day! Can you get any benefit by confronting Li Siheng head-on?"
