Chapter 349: Years Pass by (XII)
Wen Jiao's tears fell gently as Shen Zhaoli spoke.
Her voice became hoarse, and she whispered, "I'm afraid of selfless people. I'm afraid of leaving in the name of love. Shen Zhaoli, I'm a person with no future. Even if I'm really at the end of my rope, I think I should be with the person I love the most. Even if we drag each other down, we have to be together."
Shen Zhaoli hugged Wen Jiao, feeling her body temperature, and his tone sounded more like a promise, "I promise, we will drag each other down for the rest of our lives."
Wen Jiao's heart swelled, and an indescribable heat spread in her chest.
She raised her face, hooked her arms around Shen Zhaoli's neck, and kissed him lightly.
"Shen Zhaoli." Wen Jiao said, "I can."
Shen Zhaoli's reason was aroused by this kiss and he lost control. The veins on his forehead throbbed and he said hoarsely, "Aren't you nervous today?"
Wen Jiao turned over and sat on Shen Zhaoli.
The moonlight outside the window is bright, streaming in through the gaps in the curtains.
Shen Zhaoli looked at Wen Jiao sitting on him, slender and graceful, with an alluring figure.
She raised her hand and tidied her messy hair, then held Shen Zhaoli's hands and pressed them over his head.
She said, "If you let me do it myself, I won't be afraid."
In this world, all kinds of things happen every day. The relationship between people is as thin as paper, but loving someone can be scorching hot.
Shen Zhaoli let Wen Jiao lean over to him. He thought, how lucky he was that he didn't end up living like an isolated island.
During Wen Jiao and Bian Yue's afternoon tea time, Bian Yue discovered a kiss mark on Wen Jiao's neck.
Bian Yue smiled ambiguously and said, "Your progress bar has finally moved forward."
"It's a bit slow." Wen Jiao was stunned, followed Bian Yue's gaze and understood her deep meaning, so he smiled and said: "After all, the beginning of the two of us was indeed too hasty."
"That's good. Some things can't be rushed. Jiaojiao, I was always worried that you and Zhaoli would get divorced."
Wen Jiao paused holding the coffee, and looked at Bian Yue in surprise, "Yueyue, why do you think so?"
"You two have been separated for years, and you don't even talk to each other. In the eyes of many people, it's no different from a cold war." Bian Yue said: "In other words, I know that you two are twisted, but you are just trying to get along."
Wen Jiao took a sip of coffee and whispered, "No wonder my dad always tried to persuade me not to get a divorce in the past two years."
Bian Yue smiled and said, "Uncle is really worried."
Wen Jiao lowered her eyes, her eyes were sad, "I'm not a good daughter. I always make him worry."
Bian Yue looked at Wen Jiao and knew that she was sad. She quickly patted Wen Jiao's shoulder to comfort her. "Don't be sad. I was just joking. Don't worry. As long as you are doing well now, your uncle's previous worries will turn into happiness."
Wen Jiao couldn't hide her sadness when she talked about Wen Yongwei. She smiled bitterly and said, "Bian Yue, sometimes I am always afraid that my father might not be by my side one day."
Wen Yongwei's body is already hanging on by the weight of the best medical resources and care, but there is nothing a person can do in the face of death.
No matter how much power one has, it will still be like this.
Bian Yue understood Wen Jiao's pain, a pain that no one else could share.
Bian Yue could only say something happy, "Uncle was in good condition when he came back from my place. I think his health might have improved." Wen Jiao nodded, his expression slightly relaxed, "I hope so."
But the moment he finished speaking, Wen Jiao's cell phone rang.
Wen Jiao glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Wen Yongwei's personal doctor. Wen Jiao answered the phone and said, "Doctor Xu, what can I do for you?"
It was unknown what Dr. Xu on the other end of the phone said, but Wen Jiao, who had originally looked calm, suddenly changed his expression and stood up.
She didn't bother to explain to Bian Yue and rushed out directly.
Bian Yue saw Wen Jiao’s panicked expression and alarm bells suddenly rang in her heart. She quickly called Shen Jinci.
"Jinci! Did something happen to Wen Jiao's father? We were drinking coffee and she suddenly ran out!"
On the other end, Shen Jinci's voice was heavy. He said, "Yueyue, Uncle Wen's condition has taken a turn for the worse. He is still in the operating room. Zhaoli and I are rushing to the hospital."
At such moments, as Bian Yue listened, some dark memories came to her mind.
Her face turned pale, and after a moment's rest, she said, "I'll be right there!"
City Center Hospital.
The lights in the operating room had been on for seven hours. Wen Jiao sat at the door with tears streaming down her face. Shen Zhaoli and Bian Yue sat beside her, both looking at her in silence.
"Jiaojiao." Shen Zhaoli patted Wen Jiao's shoulder and said, "The operation may take a long time to finish. Let's eat something first, okay?"
Wen Jiao shook her head slowly, tears streaming down her cheeks, "I can't eat. I don't want to eat."
"We have to eat some, no matter how much. You can't ignore your body. Otherwise, when Dad wakes up, how will you take care of him?" Shen Zhaoli said patiently, "We need to ensure our energy later, right?"
Bian Yue also agreed: "Yes, Jin Ci has brought the food, let's eat first."
Wen Jiao finally relaxed a little. She lowered her eyes and looked at the cake that Shen Zhaoli placed in front of her. She took it expressionlessly and ate it slowly, bite by bite.
The cake was obviously sweet, but Wen Jiao couldn't taste it at all. She had no taste and had difficulty swallowing.
"Jiaojiao, eat slowly." Bian Yue looked at her distressedly, her eyes reddened, "Do you want to drink something?"
Wen Jiao shook her head and said, "Yueyue, I'm not thirsty."
Shen Jinci came over from not far away, holding Wen Yongwei's medical record and biochemical test report.
"We have discussed everything that needs to be discussed. The doctor's current statement is that if the operation goes well, it is best for me to go home and rest."
Bian Yue was stunned and looked at Wen Jiao with more and more worry.
The cake in Wen Jiao's hand fell to the ground. She suddenly raised her eyes and stood up. Her eyes were blurred with tears of grievance. Her eyes were bloodshot and her voice was trembling. "What do you mean by rest? I want the best medicine! I want the best doctor! I want my dad to be alive! Live in peace!"
"Jiaojiao, Jiaojiao." Shen Zhaoli hugged her and comforted her, "Calm down first."
Shen Jinci's face was dull. He said, "If you know clearly that there is no chance of improvement, but you continue to persist, it will only make yourself and your loved ones suffer. Wen Jiao, this is not the first time your father has stepped into the gates of hell. Over the years, he has received so many painful treatments. You should know that your father is a very strong person. What's the point of letting him live without dignity?"
