Chapter 31: Marriage and Love Are Different
"Just this kind of cat food, three cans of cat food, and a small bag of cat litter." Li Zehua was selecting in the pet store while holding Dudu in his arms.
Just now when I went downstairs, I heard the sound of a cat scratching the door. I tried calling out to it a few times, but who knew that Dudu was so bold that he actually squeezed out through the gap in the ventilated rotating window above the door frame.
Li Zehua was stunned by the guy's skillful movements. He had no awareness of being a prisoner at all. His little tail swung around his feet and he would lie on his shoes and rub his head against them from time to time, asking for a hug.
I tried knocking on the door, but no one answered. I was worried that it would get lost, so I went downstairs with it. While I was eating a bowl of noodles, Dudu came up to me eight times and tried to lick the noodle soup. I thought the child must be starving.
"Two more packs of cat strips."
While choosing pet food, he saw the pet store clerk teasing Dudu from time to time. He seemed very familiar with him and looked at him with a little confusion.
Li Zehua thought to himself that this was it. Chen Xiaomin must have frequented the pet shop near the community. "This is the cat of my downstairs neighbor. I knocked on the door but no one was home. I was afraid it would be hungry so I brought it here."
"No wonder, I didn't dare to call you Dudu, for fear of making the mistake." The female clerk reached out and picked up Dudu, "Xiaomin went home for the holiday and left you behind again, how pitiful, come and give me a hug."
"You are such a nice person. You even bought food and daily necessities for Dudu."
"I had a cat like this before, but I lost it."
"I'm sorry," the clerk understood immediately, "next time if you find a suitable cat, remember to bring it over to play with us."
"Yes, I will."
After I packed my things and left with Dudu in my arms, the clerk was still reluctant to let me go.
Just wait for him to leave, the clerk took out his cell phone and made a call.
At this time, it was in a commercial district in Qiantang City, hundreds of kilometers away from the Magic City.
Chen Xiaomin lazily lay in the bed, "Yeah, I understand, thank you."
After hanging up the phone, I thought about it and called again, but unfortunately it was always busy. "Bad girl, don't answer my call."
"Forget it, you're in heaven, I'll forgive you this time." He muttered to himself, logged into QQ on his phone, and sent a message to the person pinned to the top of the page:
"Sister Wanyi, Dudu ran away from home again. Remember to close the doors and windows before you go out next time."
"But this time she met a kind person, the handsome boy who just moved in upstairs. He even bought canned food and cat food for Dudu. When you get home from get off work, remember to pick up Dudu and thank him for me."
"Oh, remember to give him the money for me. Dudu is only ours to protect. I'll bring you some delicious food when I come back, hehe~"
After not getting a response for a long time, Chen Xiaomin threw her phone away, went out with bare white feet, looked at the busy figures in the kitchen, pouted and accumulated anger.
This scene happened to be seen by the middle-aged man in the living room, who couldn't help but ask curiously, "What's going on?"
"Humph~ Dudu got lost again. It's all your fault for not driving to the school to pick me up."
"Isn't this because a school project has been delayed?" The middle-aged man stood up and brought her slippers. "Besides, your mother doesn't like cats, so why would you raise them if you brought them home?"
"If she doesn't like it, we can't raise her?" Chen Xiaomin's eyes widened. She tried to struggle for a while, but her father winked at her.
Unfortunately, it was too late. Seeing the smoke filling the air, he quickly returned to the sofa, picked up the newspaper, and commented with his chin in his hand, "Alas, the international situation is getting more severe day by day, and the financial crisis is beginning to spread."
"If you dare to bring it back, I'll throw you out too." The figure coming out of the kitchen was unceremoniously, "I don't know why you keep a cat. Your clothes are covered with hair. Last night, the washing machine was beeping all night and it didn't wash clean." "I'm happy to." Chen Xiaomin retorted, "I'm all alone in Shanghai. Only with Dudu accompanying me can I feel a little warmth of home."
"So I'm wrong?" The figure that came out was 70% similar to Chen Xiaomin, but more mature and elegant. "I told you to stay close to home, but you insisted on going to the Magic City to suffer. In less than a year, you've become as thin as a monkey."
"Then I don't want to listen to you nagging me every day." Chen Xiaomin protested softly.
Seeing that she was bringing up the past again and seemed to be preaching to me endlessly, I quickly winked at my father to signal for help, but the latter was unmoved and it seemed as if I could see flowers on the newspaper.
"Can't I just say a few words to you? Hang the clothes up by themselves later. Remember to iron them and clean the fuzz off them. Otherwise, don't blame me for not reminding you if you get allergic reactions and get red spots."
As he spoke, he sighed, "I don't know what you will do in the Magic City, and whether you can take good care of yourself."
Chen Xiaomin wanted to cover her ears. Seeing that she was about to be killed by the nagging mantra, she suddenly thought of something and smiled slyly, "That's because I have Sister Wanyi to take care of me."
He pretended to walk around his mother, and when she was confused, he suddenly said, "Mom, didn't you say you would introduce a date to Sister Wanyi? Why haven't you done anything for so long?"
The beautiful middle-aged woman was stunned. "Isn't there anything suitable?"
Chen Xiaomin was curious, "How could it be that you don't know any aunts? You know so many aunties, some of them are PhD students who studied abroad, and some are senior executives of companies. How could you not have any aunties?"
"Don't embarrass your mother."
Seeing that there was no quarrel, the ostrich who was reading the newspaper finally remembered that this was his home. "Xiao Min, you have grown up. You must understand that love and marriage are different. Your mother was responsible, so the introduction was not successful."
Chen Xiaomin was completely confused, "How is that possible!"
After saying that, he counted on his fingers and said, "Sister Wanyi is gentle and generous, considerate, beautiful and dignified, with a curvy figure, especially she is older than me~"
As she spoke, she did not forget to measure it in front of her bear, thinking that it would be great if she was that big. The angry beautiful woman slapped her and said, "Girls are not allowed to be so unruly."
"Yes, they are big, round and plump. My friends and I are very envious." Chen Xiaomin didn't care. These were all her loved ones, so she had nothing to fear. "My classmates' eyes almost popped out every time they saw Sister Wanyi. It must be that Sister Wanyi doesn't like those little brats, otherwise she wouldn't let you introduce them."
After listening to this, the beautiful woman sighed and said, "Child, you still don't understand that love and marriage are two completely different things. The situation in her family..."
The man was also afraid that she would not be able to stop talking. "Why do I smell something burning? Are you stewing soup in the kitchen?"
The beautiful woman didn't care to continue after hearing this. She turned and went into the kitchen. She came out again the next second and said, "No, Lao Chen, did you smoke again?"
Fortunately, Chen Xiaomin was still struggling, "What is going on? Sister Wanyi is so beautiful, how could she not find the right person!"
"That's hard to say." The beautiful woman said with regret, "Who knows if he went there for his body, or for some other purpose."
Finally, she said earnestly, "Xiao Min, are you used to living outside? How about mommy go to Shanghai to take care of you?"
"Ah? I don't want to." Chen Xiaomin waved her hands repeatedly, "If you go over, what about Dad? He can't take care of himself at home alone."
The man nodded with satisfaction. After all, she was his little cotton-padded jacket. How considerate!
Unfortunately, I heard it the next second.
"So my dearest mother, you should stay at home and make money. If you have time, please support me with some living expenses. I don't even have enough money to buy canned food for Dudu recently."
